For more than 25 years I’m frequently visiting the Bay Area. Read below what’s my top 5 restaurants in Santa Clara, California. I tried to give a selection of restaurants in different price ranges and different cuisines.
Birk’s
Birk’s restaurant is one of my favorites. Their signature dish is the peppered filet mignon, which is brilliant. They have a good wine selection and, because there is a big selection of local wines, I often visited the local winery after having tasted the wine first at Birks. Make sure you’re still able to order a desert after the main dish, such as the Crème Brûlée. Birk’s is walking distance from the Marriott Hotel. Very convenient and a walk after a big steak isn’t such a bad idea!

Puesto
Puesto is an upmarket Taco restaurant. They have various restaurants in California and since 2018 they also have a restaurant in Santa Clara. Building the Santa Clara restaurant came with a hefty price; the design costed $8 Million! Order a tequila from the hydraulic bar and the carousel descends at the push of a button. They’re located at Santa Clara square next to Wholefoods.

Din Tai Fung
The famous Taiwanees soup dumplings restaurant also has a branch in Santa Clara. The restaurant is located in the Westfield Shopping Mall. Their best known dish is Xiao Long Bao (steamed pork dumplings) which you should definitely order if you never visited Din Tai Fung before. The Din Tai Fung location in Santa Clara is very popular and there is often quite a queue to get a table.

Pizza Antica
Pizza Antica is located at Santana Row, next to the Westfield Shopping Mall. It serves thin-crust pizzas, and I think these are the best pizzas you can find in the Bay Area. Try their Heirloom Potato pizza with white truffle oil. Santana Row offers quite a big selection of restaurants and a lot of restaurants offer outside seating, including Pizza Antica.

Dusita Thai Cuisine
To conclude the Top 5 restaurants in Santa Clara, a Thai restaurant. There are a lot of Thai restaurants in the Santa Clara area, but I believe Dusita Thai Cuisine is the best one. Dusita serves authentic Thai dishes. The best is to come with a big group and order various dishes to share. My favorites are the Lemon Basa (steamed seabass) and the Angel Trout (Deep-fried battered Rainbow trout). Finish off with Sweet Sticky Rice & Mango! Dusita is located at the corner of El Camino Real and San Tomas Expy.
