This video is even more actual now since both Hyatt as well as Marriott are running points promotions. Read below what promotions both Hyatt and Marriott are running and how you can take advantage of that!

At the moment Hyatt is running a promotion where you’ll get 25% bonus when buying Hyatt Points! This current promotions runs till January 4, 2025.
25% bonus is a very good deal since normally we’re seeing a 20% bonus or 20% price discount. Strategically buying Hyatt points could be a good idea when you have a specific hotel room reservation in mind. If the room rate is relatively high, it could be worth it calculating what you would pay if you would buy points, and use points instead for the same hotel reservation. In my Youtube video I’ll give an example where you could save almost $1000 for 1 night at a Park Hyatt hotel when paying with purchased points. Using a points promotions of course sweetens the deal!
Hyatt makes paying with points for a room reservation even more attractive since parking fees as well as resort fees are then waived. This is an extra bonus which shouldn’t be underestimated!

Marriott Bonvoy is now offering a bonus on the purchase of Marriott Bonvoy Points until December 23, 2024. This means different members get different promotional bonuses. Normally you’ll see bonuses of up to 40% for Marriott Bonvoy – seems this time the maximum bonus could run up to 45%.
In the same Youtube video, I have an example where you can save up to $300 for a room when paying with purchased points and taking advantage of a points promotion. In this case the example is for a Ritz Carlton hotel. Savings could be especially attractive when booking a hotel in a relatively low category, but with a high cash rate.
