I recently stayed at the Grand Hyatt Incheon, near the international airport of Seoul. Until now, my favorite airport hotel was the Grand Hyatt SFO. But the Grand Hyatt Incheon might top the Grand Hyatt SFO. Please read below my review of the Grand Hyatt Incheon and find out if this might be the best airport hotel in the world!
This stay was part of a 3 week trip through South Korea. I’ll also post reviews of the Andaz Gangnam, Grand Hyatt Seoul, Park Hyatt Busan, and Grand Hyatt Jeju. And I’ll also post 2 videos on my Youtube channel reviewing the High Speed train from Seoul to Busan in first class as well as the new A321 from Korea Air in Business Class from Jeju to Seoul. Links are below. But as stated, in this review I’ll focus on the Grand Hyatt Incheon.

Location
The Grand Hyatt Incheon is located close to Terminal 1 of the Incheon Airport. The hotel can be reached via the free Hyatt airport shuttle bus and the ride takes less than 10 minutes. Terminal 2 is located a bit further but also here there is a free Hyatt airport shuttle bus.
When arriving at the Grand Hyatt Incheon, it’s hard not to be impressed by the size and design of the hotel. The hotel has more than 1,000 rooms and suites which apparently makes it the second largest Hyatt hotel outside of North America. The biggest (most rooms) Hyatt outside of North America is the Grand Hyatt Jeju which I also reviewed.
The hotel looks brand new but the original hotel was already build more than 20 years ago. In 2014 the West Tower was build. The hotel now has an East and West Tower and both towers are connected via a sky bridge.
Room

For this stay, I booked a 2 bedroom Residence. This apartment suite in the West Tower measures 103 square meter (1108 square foot). It has 2 bedrooms (one with a king bed and one with 2 single beds), a living room, and a kitchen. A fantastic suite and an ideal place to stay as a family with 2 children.

Of course there is a big bathroom and the style is unmistakable the Hyatt style.
Standard this room doesn’t come with Hyatt Club Access. There are other rooms in the hotel you can book with Hyatt Club Access. The Hyatt Club Access offers some great advantages so this is definitely something to consider when booking a room at the Grand Hyatt Incheon. As a Hyatt globalist, you’re getting automatically access to the Hyatt Club.
The Hyatt Club

The Hyatt Club Lounge located in the West Tower is big. The Lounge is open for breakfast and evening drinks and snacks. The choice of food is impressive though. For breakfast as well as dinner, the lounge offers plenty of food options. I was really impressed by this lounge. A lot of Asian and Western food options and of course, kimchi is the default option.
We did visit ‘Restaurant 8’ located in the East Tower, but this wasn’t really required since the Club Lounge offers plenty of options.
Other notable mentions

Even though the Club Lounge already provide a lot of food options, if you don’t have access to the lounge, or you just want more food options, Restaurant 8, located in the East Tower, will certainly blow you away. There are different food stations and every food station looks fantastic. I don’t think I’ve ever seen an airport hotel with so many quality food options. Fantastic!
The hotel also has a swimming pool (in fact, both towers have a swimming pool) and various other areas where you can get a drink or snack. There was even a little ice cream cart near the reception area, filled with amazing looking ice cream.
Conclusion
Great, luxurious rooms, a fantastic lounge, an amazing restaurant and a hotel which is just a great place to stay. This is not a hotel where you stay out of necessity, because you’re stuck at the airport or you want to catch an early flight. This hotel is a pleasure to stay at and I can imagine you stay here just to escape the busy city.
It’s that good and impressive that my number 1 airport hotel is no longer the Grand Hyatt SFO, but instead it’s now the Grand Hyatt Incheon. And I even think it’s one of the best Hyatt hotel in South Korea!
Hyatt regularly runs promotions to buy Hyatt Points with a discount. Sometimes it’s better to pay for your room with points instead of cash. Read my blog on this topic to determine by yourself whether you want to pay with points or cash for your room.
